My apartment layout is a bit odd to say the least, and needed some imagination to figure out how to make a bunch of oddly oriented rooms into a cozy home. Cathy helped me all along the way -- by brainstorming ideas and then coming up with some sample layouts to help me visualize what the space could be. She helped guide me to various pieces that could really bring the rooms together and was always quick to give me advice or feedback if I needed it! I really loved working with Cathy and would definitely recommend her keen eye to anyone looking to revamp their space!

I called Cathy because I was STUCK! I knew what I liked and spent hours pinning on pinterest but never actually purchased anything. She came more than prepared as she had studied my pinterest boards in detail. She even shopped at a local store right before our appointment and found something PERFECT for my house just based on my pinterest boards! She made all kinds of recommendations in person and if what she recommended was not within budget, she always had a second option that creatively achieved the same outcome for less money and less commitment. She also followed up the appointment the next day with a detailed email filled with loads of other helpful information and website links. Cathy goes above and beyond what her services page describes. She empowers you to find the designer hiding deep down inside yourself and somehow gain the confidence to trust yourself enough to get started and get the project completed!

Cathy is not only amazing, but has truly been a life (and major money) saver in the process of our home renovations. Completely overwhelmed by an old and outdated house with a challenging layout, I decided to seek help from an interior designer to help map out a game plan. There was something instantly special about Cathy over the phone. Rather than instantly send me a list of costs and furniture restrictions, she already had great ideas...without even seeing the house! I loved that she had a flexible and positive can-do attitude and approach. Since our initial meeting with her last fall, Cathy has been absolutely instrumental in the design and execution of our kitchen remodel. She was there every single step along the way. Cathy reviewed every version of our plan very closely, and had creative design ideas our kitchen people never would have had. She suggested our amazing backsplash, countertops and surprising little touches with huge impact. In addition to our kitchen remodel, Cathy provided beautiful design boards for our master bedroom and complete lower level. She truly listens, is endlessly creative and resourceful, and goes way above and beyond. Hiring Cathy was one of the best decisions we made in the remodel of our house.

Living as an expat in a foreign country, I encountered quite a few challenges when coming to style the new space for our family. Our new home is a rental, which meant some elements could not be changed, and needed “working around” them. The other main challenge was shopping and sourcing items — I didn’t even know where to start! I was so fortunate to have Cathy guide me through the process and work through the specific challenges our space posed. Cathy’s main talent included using many visual platforms, from pinterest to mood board creation to 3d imaging, to sourcing unique items that worked well with the space and with our previously owned items in a perfect mix. Cathy is so gifted and a true professional — she understood my vision and made it a reality, and I whole heartedly recommend working with her!

What a great experience! We hired Cathy for two hours of in-home consultation to help us develop a design vision and plan for our two-bedroom condo in Chicago. Cathy was responsive, professional, and provided exactly what we needed for our unit. In advance of our meeting, Cathy worked out some ideas with us over e-mail and also developed schemes for each room in our home using photos and descriptions we had provided. During our in-home visit, she shared what she had developed, walked through each room in our space building a vision using our thoughts and preferences as a guide, and helped us get specific around measurements for each piece, providing the framework we had been missing in building our design. Ultimately, Cathy was exactly what we needed: a down-to-earth, completely accessible, and knowledgeable designer who helped us make our condo a home. Highly recommended!

I hired Cathy to help me decorate a new home: paint colors, floor stain, furniture, lighting, fabrics, window treatments, ceiling fans, and art. Cathy is a pleasure to work with and very talented. I love the paint colors she helped me pick, the lighting fixtures and fans are perfect, and the color of the hardwood floors is beautiful. We are in the middle stage of the project, and I am confident that Cathy will continue to steer me in the right direction. Her fee is very reasonable, and she is fun and energetic, as well as accessible. She has a great attitude, and her focus is on creating spaces that her clients will love for many years.

Cathy of Your Favorite Room designed my basement several years ago. After many years, it is a room we still enjoy! When it was time to update my kitchen, I was so happy that Cathy could help me once again! Since we are not in the same town, I take advantage of Cathy’s e-design services. After a consult by FaceTime, and sharing photos, Cathy provides a very thorough explanation of her choices, including recommended sources which can easily be linked by clicking on the image. Cathy truly has a talent for e-design! After having a short conversation with Cathy, she understood what I was looking for in the room as well as my budget. Everything she recommended for our kitchen worked perfectly! To add to this, when the project has started, she delivers the e-design in a very timely manner and is open to follow up questions. I contacted Cathy because I was working on a family room remodel and it wasn’t coming together the way I had envisioned. I also have a very open floor plan and knew it was pivotal to get the first project right. Cathy really listened to my goals and got me back on track. She was full of wonderfully creative ideas with attention to detail. She also shared her thoughts on how to make it flow into the adjoining rooms. Working with Cathy has been AWESOME! Our project is ongoing, and she has provided me with some wonderful insight and inspiration for redesigning several rooms in my house including the kitchen, family room, entryway, and living room. I provided her with some details about my rooms via email and when she came to my house for a consultation she had done a lot of research. Cathy provided me with some fresh, exciting ideas about how to update my house from the Tuscan colors I had to looks that are more contemporary. When she left I had a true direction for my project including color schemes -- right down to the paint colors!! I am so very excited to continue my project and my work with Cathy. Then she skillfully put together a fantastic plan to make the changes that I needed to update my home while respecting the pieces I wanted to keep. Cathy came into our home to help with a bathroom remodel. From there we started discussing the main floor where our kitchen and living room is located. We were lacking flow and style. Cathy asked questions and gave us some ideas. From that consult we knew we needed more assistance. We filled out a questionnaire and started sending her ideas of what we liked. Cathy came back with a plan that we are starting to implement. Cathy has a passion for creating that perfect space; she is dedicated and meets her deadlines. We hadn’t used an interior designer before but were moving into a new house with an awkward shaped living room and really wanted to make sure that we had a layout that worked for us. Cathy gave us some great ideas for layout and built in furniture and also was able to suggest some fab light fittings that we could get in Switzerland. Working long distance with Cathy on our “snowbird” home has been a complete pleasure.
